THE SPINET

This kit gives free rein to the builder, as only the insides are provided,
and the case and stand can be made of any materials desired.
In the illustration, hardwood and veneered plywood were used with a varnished finish.
There is a further, cut-down, version - slightly smaller, but the same price.
An outline design is provided for a normal stand and for a stand similar to that of the drop-leaf spinet. (q.v.)
This would mean that the instrument can be folded away after use into a very narrow space.

The spinet is more difficult to build than harpsichord or virginals,
especially if using mitred joints and a clear wood finish.
